Why buy those when you can build these with your son or daughter...or self?  This was a ton of fun with my kids.  Picking out the paints, figuring out how to camo paint, etc.  Great time.

Why would anyone want to cover mahogany with paint? What a waste.

I plan on doing that myself with my boys...I had fun building them as a kid with and without my dads help.

models are always a good father, son/daughter time  :aok  I remember as a kid helping my dad build a 1/5 scale p40.  I used to look at his rc magazines all the time, and would rip the plans pages out, and build a model from scrap wood that he had left over.  It used to drive him nuts to find pages ripped out of his books  :lol  I also remember building many of these  http://www.guillow.com/Series400Kits.aspx  as a kid with help from my dad, we bought an 020 peewee engine and made all of them free flight.  And to this day we still work on models at christmas time when they come visit :rock  them some good looking models changeup  :aok  I could never do plastic models to save my life, always got glue on windows or something  :bhead I have only finished 1 plastic model which I did like 10 years ago  :D

have had to reglue some parts its been moved cross country 2 times lol

Thanks, we use German glue with a 3 inch metal, 1mm orifice.  Very strong and very clean application

Highly recommend this for glue.

But make sure you use white glue (elmers) on windows and canopies.  :salute

Some of the guys in JG11 are currently in a model building contest against eachother.  We have been tasked by a squadmate to build the best representation of our ride in AH.

Results to follow.

- La Fabrica de Exitos -

I'd like to know where those wood models are made. They'd be more attractive if I knew the artisans got a decent cut of the price.
