Harold Ramis
« on: February 24, 2014, 12:10:41 PM »
Actor/Director Harold Ramis dies at 69.

Ramis was a comedy legend, and Ghostbusters and Stripes are still two of the funniest movies of all time. There had even been buzz recently of a third Ghostbusters film.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

A truely sad loss. My wife said he suffered from some auto immune disorder that he was diagnosed with in 2010.  :salute

Damn shame... He was great. Watch the old SCTV reruns. He was great even then.

Glad I lived in a world with Harold Ramis. There would have been a lot fewer laughs without him.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

Just last week I was reading about Caddyshack co-writer Douglas Kenney who was good friends with Harold Ramis.  Kenney fell/committed suicide in 1980.  Ramis said "Doug probably fell while he was looking for a place to jump".  I can't imagine a world without both of their many movies.

I enjoyed his work.

An interesting tidbit, he took a bunch of (acid? Speed?) drugs prior to his Army physical to avoid being drafted. Whatever he took, it worked. He failed his physical.

I really liked him as an actor, I thought he was under-rated.  I especially liked him in Stripes.   :lol

A truly great comedic talent who will be greatly missed by all.

The world won't be quite as funny now.
