That said, if you are consistently suffering collisions it could help you to adjust the way you fly.

I dislike flying without important bits of my aircraft, thus I work very hard to avoid collisions. My issue is (As I stated) that I can be hit from dead-6 by some putz and still be the only one to take damage.

This is not a problem I have ever suffered in AH so I can't comment.  Collisions for me are rare.

As to the "dead-6" thing, as I said, that isn't relevant at all.  There is literally (using the actual definition of the word) no difference to the program between you diving through a B-29's fuselage and an Fw190D-9's image in your computer's memory/processor hitting your tail.

Shouldn't be too hard. You fly the slowest fighter in the game!  :P

:salute to you guys willing to explain it again and again and again..

I think i'm worn out still from the last collision model thread I was involved in.

 I agree!

I wish just for 1 day that HTC would give the players what they want,a collision bubble where both go down. Wait no I dont the whines would be never ending and make these threads look like kid's stuff!

Years ago I flew a sim that worked like this, some nights when the lag was bad or certain players located far away in Europe or Japan and you would collide before you got into guns range,ya about 400 yards of their 6 and boom you both go down. Sure that exactly what everyone want who want to see both planes go down.

I think he moved up to a slightly faster one.  Ki-43-II isn't quite the slowest fighter.  I think the slowest is the either the Sea Hurricane Mk I or the B-239.

All things the same it should be 50% of the time you should get the damage.  But all things are not the same and my best guess is the biggest variable is actual plane speed and would include the speed of changing direction.

The faster your plane or the red plane is at that moment decides the outcome if one receives damage and the other does not.  My WAG.  Not a momentum thing but a computer update thing.  The faster plane travels further between updates.

That is incorrect and surprising given that how it actually works has already been explained. If there is a collision on your PC you take damage. That's it. There are no other factors.
