having clouds should be a priority : clouds were -big- part of air combat in wwii !
I most certainly disagree. Clouds, as a part of air combat for a fighter pilot, is next to useless, at most times. The clouds that would be incorporated into the game (if it's done) will definitely not be the huge cumulonimbus type that could hide dozens of aircraft, but rather the ones you'd see on a partly cloudy, warm summer day. According to my knowledge, the weather most combat took place in would include, the small, cumulus type. Now listen, those little clouds aren't an effective tool for jumping somebody not are they for trying to shake an enemy off your six, since they're no places you have to hide in a cloud .5K across going up to 400mph. And trying to jump someone would require precise timing since the clouds would be so small, not only that but it won't hide big red icons from 6K out.
And as of WW2 combat nowhere have I heard of veteran accounts of clouds being used effectively and extensively in combat throughout the war or an engagement. Nor is use of clouds ever brought to attention in fighter doctrines, including Boelcke's. Rather would the sun be used for jumping an enemy than a little cloud.
So as far as adding in clouds for eye candy and to change fighter combat by a certain degree,
I vote no to clouds -1
