You could just buy it from iTunes.....

Last time I checked iTunes doesn't sell physical CD's that fit in car CD players.  :headscratch:

For that trek you need to listen to a audio book.  Black Cross by Greg Iles. http://mobile.audible.com/search.htm?type=search&cache=1&keywords=black+cross+greg+iles&sprefix=Black+cr

Where are you going in New Mexico.

Rather small-ish town called Clayton.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaiaaar88EM   def leppard
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH4S6_xdLwU    forth angel, never been able to find this in stores, but love their tunes  :rock
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xD5No_JRrZw   type o negative all albums rock, they are a love or hate band though  :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMrezs2Bgek  Corrosion of comformity
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gv_f-8pt9wE   powerman 5k
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHWOrdAS7SM&list=PLC4A430AA350FDFD4    entire metallica S and M album

That Def Leppard song reminded me to bust out the old Pink Floyd CD's I have. Against The Wall and Dark Side of The Moon. Might have to see if I still have my Metallica CD's as well.

Awesome.  You're a 90's guy like me.

Mad Season     - a tad mellow, but it's another full album of Layne so it's a must have.
Tool                - anything by them is brilliant.  My personal fave is Lateralus, but none of them will disappoint.
Soundgarden   - Badmotorfinger, Superunknown.

If you like Iron Maiden, then Rock in Rio 2001 is a great choice.  Flawless performance in front of a crowd of 250,000.  I don't know about anyone else, but studio Maiden doesn't hold a candle to live Maiden.

Tool and Soundgarden, by far some of the best from the 90's. Pearl Jam wasn't too bad either however I don't like their latest album. Just not my thing.

Clearly not, i'm asking for bands/musicians to listen to so I can buy the CD if I like what I hear for the trip.

How much would such an item cost? Oh and on Amazon I get free MP3 downloads when I buy the CD. On top of that the CD is generally cheaper than just the MP3 download.

I didn't understand and apologize. Having said that, you know what genres you like - preview and buy.

Seems like a good deal. I'm one of those that needs a physical copy of my music though so I don't know if i'm going to be able to refrain from buying the CD's :lol

I can see how my message could be misread. However I am open to exploring more genres out there, hence why I am asking for some outside opinions.   ;)

Last time I checked anyone with a cd or dvd burner could burn any song bought from iTunes to a home made compilation.

You're going to need some Yello.

Lots and LOTS of Yello.
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

Nothing. I don't really have any Katy Perry songs but she's hot.

That's the list thus far. And yes. I'm still looking to expand it. So far it's about 45 hours worth of music, enough to get there and back and still have some albums left over that I haven't listened to.

"What's goin' on" by Marvin Gaye........James Jamerson showing the world how to play bass while laying flat on his back drunk on the floor.

"science" .......the entire album .......by Incubus....

"jaco pastorius" by "jaco pastorius"

"Rio" "girls on film" and "save a prayer" by duran duran

"give blood" by Pete Townsend.......pino palladino ripping up the bass and simon philips drumming

"Hot water" by Level 42.......mark king ripping up the bass as well as some stellar drumming

"moving pictures" or the live show "exit stage left" which shows that rush has no trouble doing anything live what they do in the studio unlike most groups.

That's just bass stuff.
