I don't know what to call it...
« on: March 09, 2014, 02:54:51 PM »
But this is from a dogfight with a 109-F I had last night.

On the second pass I take a shot, just barely missing the 109s tail.

In between the first and second passes I can see the 109 pulling ahead slightly so I start to line up for a shot.

I see my chance for a shot on the third pass as I roll inverted to keep him in my sights.

I take the shot, scoring some hits on his right wing tip as he flies through my sights.

On the fourth pass, he gets a shot but misses. Round and around we go, fifth pass, sixth pass.

On the seventh pass it's still any ones game.

Finally, on the tenth pass, the 109 ends up in front of me. The end is near as all I need to do is line up and deliver my final lethal burst of .50s.

Damn, still not down. Pass number eleven, I finally get another shot. Rounds rip through his plane from wing to tail.

Another good hit, it won't be long now!

That shot killed his engine, he has no hope of winning now!

Yet another solid shot to his wing, that thing can't take too much more abuse!

I see his wing come off, it's finally over. Now to get back to base before someone finds me as an easy target.

Finally back at base, it's been a busy day.

Touchdown!

Awesome fight!

As I read your pictorial I kept waiting for the freaking noob to come zooming through, pick you then go on about their business like they did something important. A good 1 v 1 is always a good day!

It was far from a 1v1. In the last 30 seconds of the fight, I had no less than 3 enemy planes on my six. Could have been more but film viewer only told me that I had no friendlies around. I did get killed but still enjoyed the fight. I'll take another look at the film to see who was in the 109 so that they get the credit they deserve for not running straight to base ack.

"But... you landed!" No, that came from another sortie that I did land. D-11 is my main ride so it wasn't hard to find some footage. I thought that me landing would have made a better end to the story than saying "I was ganged by 2 ponies and a sixteen."

Sunday I had a great fight with a La-7 vs my 51.  We went around and around for sometime finally I died. I overshot and pulled up when I should have rolled over. It was a great fight. The funny thing was that I had sweaty palms and shaking hands.

That is when I know it has been a good fight.

Deadstik is another Latrobe, he just does not win as often. Sorry Dolby, your insurance company will cancel your policy. Best to look into self insured.  :bolt:

I decided to make a comic out of the fight I had with the 109F. I think it came out pretty well and I really enjoyed making it.

A big <Salute> to Pasco for fighting until the very end. He didn't give up until took his engine and his wing. He has my respect for giving me this outstanding fight.

Here's the one with just screen shots. I'm only linking the one image because of their massive size.
