This is a screenshot from our latest FSO event (Operation Cartwheel, Frame 2). One of our squad-mates takes aim at a group of Japanese bombers attacking our carrier group on the deck. These bombers flew in after several waves of Japanese fighters had swept the area but were decimated by F4F-4 fighters and AA fire. It was a fun FSO frame in the PTO, as always.

Fly Navy! :salute

LOL.... eeyore, we would still want you for our FSO nights, in the 412th FNVG FSO group, now Sir!

Hate to lose you to some "jollys" ....hehe

But the VF-17 Jolly Rogers, are a fine outstanding AcesHigh squadron! Without a doubt....

But we would sure hate to lose you!

Arlo, Big Rat, Kingpin, whiteman and the rest of you crickety pirates, don't make him walk that plank too soon...hehe

Cheers

Membership has it's privies, savvy?

That bein' said, I must acknowledge 'The Damned' as a squad that holds a fine rep that I would like to see grow back in size and become reg'lar adversaries in all arenas to our selfies. You're just plain fun that way.  :aok :salute

Yes, VF-17 will fly for the Axis in FSO if called upon. The Jolly Rogers brought the same devotion to excellence and thirst for aerial adventure in last night's FSO, when our squadron maneuvered around a pack of unescorted Mosquito bombers and tore through their formation. The pirates of VF-17 had quite a feast: scoring 42 victories this frame for only 3 losses. In the screenshot above, squadmate Wheeler pours cannon shells into a Mossie formation while DropTine (in the far distance) takes aim at another set of bombers. Wheeler was the top scoring pilot on both sides of this FSO frame with 6 kills!

Fly with the hunters!  :salute

 is the current correct site.

The VF-17 Jolly Rogers are recruiting pilots interested in US Naval Aviation.
New pilots and vets equally welcomed.
We do ask you be 18 or more years of age and have an account with HTC.
You are also required to have a sense of humor when joining

Squad Nights

Corsair training : Monday, 10:00pm Est

FSO Training :Thursday, 10:00 pm Est

FSO: Friday, 11:00 pm Est

Our primary focus aircraft is the F4U and it's variants, primarily the 1a. But we are happy to fly any US navy Iron. We train a lot in this squad, so if you are looking to up your game, love blue planes, and like to work as a team, we might be right for you.

We are also an active FSO squad, so being able to participate in FSO on a regular basis is required. We know things come up in real life, so we don't expect everyone to make every frame, but expect you to make it when you can.

New recruits, will probably be spending a lot of time with me or a fellow veteran to determine weaknesses in merge tactics and plane handling. We hold our F4U flying to high standards, and we'll do our best to bring you up to speed quickly.

As a squad we are always actively trying to improve, both individually and together as a team.  In the last two years, we've made great strides in both aspects.  So we expect any new recruits to try and hit as much practice time as possible (don't worry practices are normally fun and intense).

Trust us when we say anybody that has been with us for any length of time is proud to display the Jolly Roger

VF-17's CO is Branch37

When you think the fight might be going bad, it already has.
Becoming one with the Hog, is to become one with Greatness, VF-17 XO & training officer BigRat

Greetings, I used to play this game years ago and I was always into blue planes(primarily the f6f) I flew with the VF-31 Tomcatters but sadly that squad disbanded a long time ago. I recently got a new computer and it can actually run this game...so against my better judgement I re-enlisted in AH. My lack of skill is only surpassed by my ability to hit trees with my plane, however I have fun doing that. I briefly flew with the VF-17 before my departure from AH due to real life stuff and computer failure, but I'm back for a bit and would like to wing up with some Naval Aviators and re learn how to play this game again.
