GPU help

Please forgive my ignorance but I need a little help.

I bought a new computer a little while back.  It has an AMD A6-3620 Quad core with on-board Radeon  HD graphics, to which I added a Radeon 6670 GPU. 

I know there is probably more information you need, but I would need direction to find it.

My problem is that I am pretty sure I am not getting what I should be from my hardware, and I am pretty sure it's because of my lack of knowledge. 

As an example, my frame rates are pretty low.  My detail is rather lacking also.

If anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

You have bought some very weak hardware.
Check if that GPU is compatible with that old APU in dual graphics mode. If so, turn it on, if not, try using the discrete graphics card as the built-in graphical unit in the A6 is quite slow.

Even if your hardware is functioning perfectly, please, dont expect too much from that setup.

  I'm running an AMD Athlon Dual Core Processor 4850e, 2.5 GHZ and 4GB ram, with an AMD Radeon HD6670. Still getting 56 to 60 FPS with most of the eye candy on. I also have the built in ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics, which I have turned off.

Then possibly only the APU is working. I dont know, how to fix that though.

Disabling dual graphics through AMD Vision Control Center and setting the power option to "High Performance" will automatically switch from using the APU graphics to the 6670 GPU.
