SPOTTED APE ASSEMBLY SHIP
« on: March 18, 2014, 12:08:00 PM »
I am proud to present my latest skin for the b-24 The SPOTTED APE ASSEMBLY SHIP which has been accepted

The only disappointment is that I had to chose one (Spotted Ape) of the three Assembly ships I submitted, but am greatful to have the one accepted.

Another reason for choosing this one of the three as it had lights on it side like I have tried to create the the illusion  of them as you can see in the last image.

I think I might actually start flying B-24's...

Beautiful skin! I think the lighting effect came out pretty damn well.  :aok

I thought Assembly Ships were not going to be accepted?

Well I talked to HTC and he said there was no actual rule, but since that I have been told that I could only have this one. I don't think there will be another one put in the game from what I hear.

Mmmm, that is a bit frustrating. i was thinking of doing one a while ago, not long after I first started skinning but got told by the community that they were not allowed as they didn't see combat generally. I gave it up after that and was a bit disappointed.

Not having a go at you Hornet, she looks nice. Just frustrated that i was told no by the people here when that wasn't the case.

I know what you mean sir that is why I went direct to hitech himself. Sometime best to ask the man in charge as afterall it's his decision.

Now that I think of it, I can see a historical use for this skin in scenarios.  One guy per bombardment group could launch ahead and serve as the rally point.  Once the lead reaches the position and the formation is assembled, this guy can turn for home.  I like it!  :rock

I have a similar looking B-24 & it was not an assembly ship.
