fuel can supplies
« on: March 19, 2014, 12:59:59 PM »
Wishing for fuel cans to be included as a possible supply.  Loaded to a c47/m3/Fi-156 so a player can deliver 50 gallons of fuel to another pilot.  :pray

There was no mid-air refueling during WWII.  Except maybe as a test, or a stunt.

no but-a pilot can land his empty plane-and and 1 of the options can be used--depending on distance..and surrounding enemy planes and gv's.

I assume you mean a downed plane that has run out of fuel.  I would imagine this happened during WW1 and WW2.

if you actually read the post....my question is how does an m3 refuel air to air?????

+1 i like the idea of being able to run fuel out to a nearby plane if need be jeep needs option to

but it should be 5 gallons tanks... 3-5 for jeep and 10 for m3/47 2-3 for storch i think would be fine

I can see it now, landing at a v-base or even a GV spawn in my P47-D11 when I run out of fuel.
This would be a great idea along with the emergency landing strips. Would also be great to have them resupply your aircraft as well.

Oh, and +1. By resupply I mean ammo and fuel, not just fuel. Just have to be carried separately so you can't put an aircraft back into action quickly, i.e separate supplies for aircraft fuel and ammo unlike what they have for GVs.

It doesn't.  Which was the point of my original reply.  However, landing both planes and using a gas can would be possible.

Ive run out of fuel many times giving air support to GVs at GV bases far from the airfields. I've landed at them too and have had my engine sputter and stop just as I've taxied up to the hangers at these bases. This is a great idea that is not far off the realism mark. Give the M3s and the Jeeps the ability to bring gas cans to planes that have put down intact and are in need of fuel. But don't allow them to be rearmed.

+1  :aok from me.

you said "Air to air refueling never happened in WWII -1" so if commented about the whole post as if he wanted air to air refuel...which is why i asked how an m3 fits that criteria... and no point did he mention air to air

I wish that if we land our plane in the field we will be able to use GV supplies to instantly repair and rearm the plane.

I think it would add fun for some folks.  I run out of fuel pretty often.  Since planes are free, I often stay way past the point of no return and just ditch when it runs dry.  Not sure about rearm, guys could stay in CraterMA tank town bombing tanks all night  :D
