Val Kilmer played Batman?  Who knew?

I gave up on Hollywood ever producing a decent Batman movie.

For some reason, Hollywood cannot get Batman or Superman right.  Go figure.

No love for the Reeve supes?

The first one is tolerable, but that is about it.  I thought Reeves was the best Superman though.  Not his fault he got stuck with lousy stories, a bad supporting cast, and poor directing.

I prefer the second - even though it has not aged well - but I've always thought Reeve's superman has been the best so far, the rest of that Donner era franchise is dire...but then as already posted sometimes you get the casting right on - Terence Stamp's Zod, Downey's Tony Stark, Hemsworth's Thor, Tom Hiddleston's Loki, Alfred Molina in Spidey 2, Gary Oldman's Jim Gordon...and sometimes it can go bad ie. the entire cast of Batman & Robin, Jim Carrey & Tommy Lee jones in Batman Forever, Halle Berry's catwoman...

I thought the most recent Superman was the best. Guess I'm outvoted here. I liked the more fleshed out back story and Superman's more believable personality. The technology of his people was also interesting and original.

As for comic book to movie conversions I think Watchmen is in a class of its own, and probably will be for a long time.

I agree. Not a big fan of super hero stuff, but the last Superman was good. I enjoyed it.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Adam West by a mile.

One scene that still cracks me up:

Batman uses some kind of bat-gadget to open a wall safe and Chief O'Hara exclaims: "Batman, you unscrambled that safe in three seconds flat!"  Then Batman faces the camera, smirking and says; " Yes Chief, thanks to the "Bat-Three Seconds Flat Safe Unscrambler.:lol

And don't forget Julie Newmar.  Hottest Catwoman ever.

"Then out spake brave Horatius, the Captain of the gate:
To every man upon this earth, death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds.
For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods."

I was a big fan of the Original Batman movie, submarine, helicopter, it was kid-awesome.

You forgot the Batcycle. I bet that gokart sidecar was terrifying.

The Watchmen movie did fall short of the comic...  After all there were several key differences.  Of all the Comic movies, I think it is the probably the most faithful, but that doesn't mean it's not painful to see how much they changed.  The acting was good, and I was grateful for that.  However, they changed small parts and ended up censoring some important things in my opinion.

Yeah. However, I thought the changes were OK and perhaps even necessary for transferring the story to film. The giant robotic spiders was always the weakest part of the plot in my opinion, and Dr M makes for a much better option to Veidt's "solution". What did they censor in your opinion?

It's been a long while since I've seen the movie, but I remember being upset with Rorschach and the Comedian.  I felt that they sort down played the brutality of Rorschach a bit, perhaps also Comedian.  Might not count as censorship to most, but felt that way to me.

Also I was upset that 2nd Nite Owl didn't have a gut... :p

The changes to the Ozy plot I was ok with, because it was understandable.
