Who's your Batman?
« on: March 20, 2014, 10:35:14 PM »
Interesting question from the new movie Neighbors. Who's your Batman? Yeah, we all know Skuzzy's a Val Kilmer man, but mine is definitely Adam West. Grew up during the wonder years when it was in it's prime. He was. the man.

Was impressed with Michael Keaton's rendition and have to say Bale is the most compelling portrayal.

Sure, James Bond has his signature martini and greeting. But he doesn't have a signature dance he created.
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY will ever be as bat-cool as this.

I watched the West version as a kid...  It was cool, but didn't do it for me.  I'm kind of a comic guy, and I very much enjoy the darker Batman stuff.  Frank Miller and Alan Moore, etc.  The Keaton movies came out when I was a kid too, so that was my first Batman Movie experience.  Was good, but I gotta say Bale is probably my favorite Batman.  To me, he captures the flaws as well as the strengths of the character.

I agree, Bale is my favorite as well. We won't even talk about the Clooney one. (Shudders)

I love Batman, and have more than a few toys....errr collectables including a good number of Hot Toys but its got to be Bale - Keaton was excellent, but definitely Bale for the movies

Adam West, because it was the last batman that was ridiculous on purpose. I don't like films that are ridiculous but not comedic.

Favorite Batman scene. So moody with the atmosphere of a night ride through the autumn/fall forest, the music, and with Kim (understandably) looking like she's been kidnapped by a madman.

The 1989 Tim Burton Batman is by far my favorite.

Also my favorite Batmobile...

Honestly my favorite Batman is the 90s animated series one.  It was just a solid, well written cartoon.  Better than the live action ones for sure.

Val Kilmer played Batman?  Who knew?

I gave up on Hollywood ever producing a decent Batman movie.

For some reason, Hollywood cannot get Batman or Superman right.  Go figure.

Skuzzy, in my opinion the only one they've gotten anywhere close to right is Iron Man/The Avengers.  Those are pretty decent.  The rest is basically poorly done because hollywood types feel the need to rewrite good comics.  I chose Bale just because it's better than the rest of the garbage.

Yep, I agree, Ironman and the Avengers, along with Thor, are all pretty good representations.

I also thought the first Spiderman was fair.  I think they could have cast it better though.

I agree.  Spiderman wasn't terrible.  Could have been a bit better though.

Since I wasn't an Officer in the British Army,
and WW2 was quite a bit before my time, I wasn't entitled to a Batman.

For the TV/Movie Character- Adam West :aok
