new post old topic, positive suggestion...i hope

Hi all! first do not take this as a criticism to anyone. this is nothing but a suggestion. I want to commend the CIC's and the CM's for the hard work they do. everyone works together to make it fun for all. also a salute to all the squads as getting people to show up and fly could be characterized as trying to herd cats!

my post is directed towards plane rides and continuity.  this goes back to this post-- http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,359156.0.html

this week JG54 got typed out orders from the CIC....mind you we got them early and we appreciated it. my suggestion is this. every CIC should use a standard form excel spreadsheet or open office spreadsheet, or whatever works kind of spread sheet, that can be used by everyone... Heres why.

JG54 was left off the orders this week, how you miss a group like JG54 is beyond me but I attribute it to us not usually flying Allies, and im happy to leave it at that. no harm no foul. we contacted the cic and he gave one of the guys our assignment and that player passed it on in the squad forum. great!
problem was that we ended up flying the same thing we did last week. again not a big deal, we fly what we're given.

now heres where the logic is:
frame one CIC prints out orders and sends to whatever side he's on and includes a spread sheet with squads, commitment, take off base, target base, frame 1 plane assignment, frame 2 plane assignment and frame 3 plane assignments on it as headers.

he then fills in squads, commitment take off base target base and frame 1 plane assignment in only, leaving frame 2 and frame 3 plane assignments blank.

Now next week, frame 2 CiC takes Frame 1 orders spread sheet, he has what everyone had for targets already, he has bases from frame 1 already and he has plane assignments from frame 1 already.

he would then change take off base and target base on the squads, and if desired change plane and put it in the frame 2 plane assignment column.

this would do 2 things:
1 it would keep a squad from being forgotten.
2 it would show what they flew in frame 1 and now it can be changed(or not if necessary) or at least analyzed.

now when the frame 3 CIC gets spread sheet, he already has planes from frame 1 and 2 in front of him and he knows what squads have been flying. it takes a lot of the work out of it for him and he can clearly see what people flew the last 2 frames and adjust rides accordingly.

also with spreadsheets you can look at last month or the last 2 months squads and planes, and see what they have been assigned to fly and make adjustments as necessary. its a win for everyone.

Maps are great if someone has time to include them, but I feel the spreadsheets would make everyone's life easier.

please do not take this as anything but a positive suggestion. I'm not busting anyone chops, I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad, I'm not going after anyone.

I'm just trying to help make it better for everyone.

In an see where you're going here. I agree with a speradsheet with rides on it, but beyond that, things would get too complicated to try to keep the format consistent.

too complicated??? really??? it doesn't get any easier then that.

so doing this is too complicated:

now everyone that would be a cic would get this. they just copy it from last week and change whats necessary.
we dont have to go beyond that. if every week the CIC adds the spreadsheet with the orders, this all falls right into place

i guess people would rather complain about something rather then try to use a legitimate solution to fix the problem. <S>
