7 or 8?

Its time to replace my ten year old XP PC.

I use windows 7 at work and like it. I've never used windows 8, but it looks very different, and i've heard bad things about it. "oh, you wouldn't like windows 8."

Should I buy 7 or 8? Any suggestions and why?

I'm online looking at PCs and parts. I just decided that I'm not going to build one.

I looked at the Alienware X51 but $700 is a bit steep.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a canned setup that can run AH at high settings?

If you pay 100-200 dollars more than you would pay if you build yourself, you can get a ready built computer. For less than 700 bucks you won't find any ready built solution that will run modern games properly. They'll fool you with fancy ram amounts etc. and hide the fact that the graphics card is a 7310 extra special neutered version worth 10 bucks that can't run games.

Is the NVIDIA GeForce gtx 645 w/ 1 GB GDDR5 any good?

Self built this system shouldn't be more than 600. Other than that it should be able to run AH great.

Yeah I missed that you had selected the Asetek water cooler, that's an unnecessary expense in your setup. Now it looks much better although for that money you should still get an intel cpu instead of AMD.
