the ju-87 d-5 stuka....an easy wish
« on: April 02, 2014, 11:48:02 PM »
....gentleman. i would like to see the d-5 variant of the stuka added.....it would be pretty easy.   the current g-2 that is in game now......is based on the d-5.  and so the modeling is already in game. the d-5 would have the bomb load of the also currently availabe d-3 that is in game now, with the addition of more speed in level flight, more speed attained in a dive and 2 x 20mm cannons in the wings. this variant was made in great numbers(almost as many as the d-3) and served from 1943-45 in front line service. hans ulrich rudell flew a d-5 before flying the g-1 and g-2. it would have increased performance over the current d-3 in late war scenarios and would be availabe in late war arena.

Wow I find it hard to believe it has been almost 38 days since our last path. We should have release another 38 versions by now  :bhead

There was a long range variant made with DTs permanently attached to the wing bomb points.

They were based off the earlier B models and given the R designation.

Oooooo...  I'd use it to fly to an HQ and back, just for the hell of it...and providing I actually LIVE to accomplish it. :)

So this model would basically add dual 20mm's to the same stuka dive bomber we already have?

Our current bomb truck Stuka with two 20mm would be underestimated by PO'd players for it's furballing potential at 25% fuel. Along with having a better survival rate on those mass Stuka fun missions. A few players would capitalize on this just to embarrass the less skilled. I remember a Stuka raid where our BB guns were what got most of the raid killed after a single La7 showed up at the vBase. Only one of us got home, and it took all of us peppering the La with BB's to knock him down as he slaughtered us.

and a little more horsepower than the D-3 currently in game, IIRC
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.
