Columbia Compax
« on: April 07, 2014, 05:58:43 PM »
I think it's time to add one of the most over looked ground vehicles that used in the war, the bicycle.

This was the Columbia Compax, used by US forces in all theaters of operation.

The British BSA Airborne Folding Paratrooper Bike was also used by the British and Commonwealth forces in all theaters and used extensively in Market Garden.

And a basket in the front.

While looking up the Compax, found out that some of the first assault vehicles were bikes.

A quadracycle from 1899 with a maxim machine gun and armored shield.

Another one referred to as an "armored cruiser".
