You hear of "First's"....how about "Last's " ??

What is the last thing you've done for the rest of your life or will ever do again? (Besides die. No need to post if you're dead)
I hit two milestones at 54 years old this year:

I hate lawn aeration with those two ton aerators you rent. I just did my LAST one and will never do that to my aging body again. I'm hiring someone from here on out.

I hate pressure washing black mold/mildew/moss of of aggregate driveways and patios, 3500 sq. feet to be exact. I just did my LAST pressure wash job that takes 8 hours to do. I'm hiring someone from here on out.

no lasts here except for my wonderful woman and perfect son.  I'll take what life throws at me till the day I die and kick its tail.

I hit my first "Never doing that ever again" this year a few weeks back in school: Working with someone on a tire changing machine that didn't know to let the air out of the tire before they broke the bead on the rim, and did it before anyone saw that they hadn't let the air out.

Cowboy who put on my new roof?

Ive given up on 'never doing that agains', i said no more kids after the 1st one, i said no more motorcycles after an accident 7 years ago, and i said no more marraige after my divorce.

I got 2 kids, 2nd marraige, and a zx6e in the driveway.

The family and I just moved into our dream house a few months ago, we did everything, boxed, loaded, lifted, drove,unloaded, lifted, unboxed...We also moved the mother in law in with us, and you guessed it......We did all the moving ourselves..We moved 2 full houses in the span of a month.. I will NEVER move again....I will never help anyone move again...I will never look at a moving truck ever again.......I will flick the bird at any Uhaul truck i ever see for the rest of my life, after i maniacally point and laugh at it first........the word move has been banned in this home (along with tissue paper and packaging tape).......

The only way im leaving this house is on a slab....or if when i wake up and look outside i see the ocean.....but i guarantee that if that's the case, it wont be me moving in either scenario.

Years ago when I lived in Toronto I had a roomate whose girlfriend planned to move from a small town about 2 hours away to the big city.  Months before the move I was asked if I would help and in a moment of weakness agreed.  Being quite a clever guy my roomate did not bring it up again until a few days before the planned move.  He sprung it on me and made it clear that no excuse would be accepted for not helping.

That was the last time I have ever, and will ever, help anyone move.  Loading the truck up was bad enough.  Getting all the furniture in the house when we got to the city was much much worse.

I owned a staion wagon and had many requests for people to have me help them move using the car after that experience.  I would hand them the keys but never again got involved personally.

The mistake here is they are not called aerators, they are properly labeled aggravateors.    :devil

Moving...  Worst day of my life (yeah, I've had a pretty cushy life) was helping a friend move a 2 bedroom apartment in the back of a Dodge Dakota...  We thought we had all weekend to do it, found out late Saturday morning that we had until noon Sunday.  Did I mention they hadn't packed most of their stuff up?  Did I also mention they were moving out of a 4th floor walkup?  The only saving grace was that the place we were moving them into was a house, ground floor.

Saturday morning until 7 AM Sunday morning when we both basically just shut down due to exhaustion.

I have come to the conclusion once people hit 30, it is time to hire movers when you move.

Well I have one. I stopped doing that "W" thing in 04. I no longer have top do the "W" thing for pay now. I have all of you other folks doing the "W" thing and providing pay for me......   Does that count Rip?  :D :bolt:

Just a little clue to latter in life to the young.  Do more, not less.  Taking it easy is a rope-a-dope.  It will  seem like a good idea at the time but it will not end well.
