Suggestion to Help Raise Numbers in Special Events

If you complete the event a certain amount of minutes (say 60 minutes) You are awarded a small but reasonable amount of perks like 15-25.  This may really up numbers. What do folks think?

Not a bad idea for a reward for playing, but I think I'd rather have folks in the event because they want to be there for its own measure of fun rather than as a way to get perks.

Yeah well the truth is.. I used to never ever fly anything but fso. But I tried a special event because ma was down.. I LOVED IT!!! I think most folks would love it if they had compelling reason

I can think of a few compelling reasons already:

1. An immersive environment. (2-sided Axis vs Allies with terrain based on reality versus alien creativity)

2. A chance to fly some of those perk birds at no cost from time to time. (Granted, it may be rare - but the current FSO features limited 262s).

3. No land-grab/map reset.

Alright how so? I fly many events and im well aware of #s. no need to be a arrogant jerk about it. Is 15-25 perks going to hurt the game? Not anymore than the guys like you on it.

Special events don't use the perk system, so there would be no benefit.  We never perk the planes.  Or maybe I misunderstood, are you looking for more perk points to be applied in the main arena for playing special events?  Why wouldn't you just stay in the MA and get points?  Special events are played for the lack of MA game style, not a duplication of it.
Regarding the numbers, most special events are niche events.  Snapshots, quick missions, no real order and just a night out of the MA.  KOTH, head to head fights.  It's not about getting more bodies, it's about having events that some people enjoy. The CMs put the events on for those who want to be there. If you want to be there, then I don't see why perks would entice you to be there.  Those are Main Arena benefits for flying in the Main Arenas, to unlock Main Arena planes.  Now, FSO pulling several hundred each friday, scenarios doing the same thing, that is quite a bit different than 15-20 players.   Those don't need, have never needed, and will never need a perk bonus to fly in.  Why is that?

The ones that come on every other week or so in SEA2. They're called 'snapshots' I believe. The one last week was the raid on Schweinfurt, it only had about 20 people in the event.
