When there is a disconnect or map reset

When there is a disconnect or map reset, why does Aces High boot you to the desktop versus the main menu?

Wow I find it hard to believe it has been almost 38 days since our last path. We should have release another 38 versions by now  :bhead

Because it's the same as the CM kick function... It'll log you out automatically as if it was a disco...

1 function for two purposes...

Plus it ensures that nothing can interrupt the loading of a new terrain...

Why not just kick to server menu/lobby?
only a moron would use Dolby positioning in a game.

Because Aces High doesn't diddly around when it's time to reset the arena.

Why not just kick to server menu/lobby?

Already answered that "Because it ensures that nothing interferes with the terrain change"

Can't be logged out and be able to be at the lobby at the same time.

IF someone is by chance still logged in, it can make it impossible for someone to log in again without an Admin to forcefully log them out, and unfortunately that will require rebooting the server...

that reminds me of the one time when one country won the war and a bunch of guys bailed out because they had kills/damage caused and they wanted the points.  I was in a 262 so I stayed up till map reset.  but it never happened.  probably about 15 or 20 of us kept flying around till the guys logged back in and wonder why the map didnt change.  it was funny as hell.

There is a main menu before you log in...

Getting booted to the desktop is a snap shot back to reality and can end my night of ah if I am on the fence. I haven't heard a good reason why the game boots you to the desktop yet.

The reason it dosn't put you back to the arena selection screen is because if a real net related disconnect happens , you would be stuck waiting for a time out at the arena selection screen.

The reason it dosn't put you at the main menu is simply to make 100% sure that if a abnormal disconnect occurs , the program is started again cleanly.
