Offline Drones

Could you please make the offline drones fly in a long-sided oval instead of a gentle circle please. It would be considerably more useful for gunnery practice.

But, have you tried the stage missions?  If you setup an online custom arena the drones can even more aggressive.

Completely agree with making offline drones fly an oval pattern.

Wonder how hard it would be to give the drones some AI like in WBs offline mode?  I would settle for an oval, figure 8, or some other erratic pattern.  I use offline a LOT to practice gunnery.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want Dale and crew to stop what they are doing if they agreed to change the drone's pattern :aok

Yeah I just thought this would be the simplest approach which included little straight bits. Then you can practice everything. A target turning in a gentle circle is less useless for practical exercise.

Just like we can change what planes the drones fly offline. I think we should be able to choose what pattern the drones fly in.  Figure 8, oval, circle etc.
If we have something to show we will & do post shots, if we have nothing new to show we don't.

A menu of patterns including an option for climbs and dives. Even evasive break turns, then the drone returning to the circuit pattern if your guns pass misses. This would give you infinity repetition to fly against rather than the offline missions which start at A, finish at B. You are not using the drones to learn ACM. Gunnery and your sight picture is learned through repetition.

I miss Crabbyland too. Those AI pilots fight better than a lot of the "Aces" in the MA.  :)
