Thanks guys, glad you like it. I intend to do a black 61st FS P-47M at some point, so I am on the lookout for some info including a good photo of one that's not already been skinned.

Lt. Ernest H Treff, 61st Fighter Squadron. P-47M 44-21109 HV-K “Sue”. Sue is seen here being flown by Lt. Herbert J "Tex" Edwards. Modellers please note the red sliding canopy frame with the windscreen still in natural metal; also no light blue outline to the national insignia as normally seen on 61st FS P-47M’s

What color is that really? It seems to be too blue to be black, but too dark to be insignia blue ore even USN gloss sea blue.

Its been a while since I researched the P-47M, but IIRC no one is quite sure what black and blues were used by the 61st and 63rd respectively. The 62nd are known to have used RAF paints. My guess is that the 61st used the USAAF's late war night camouflage colour, Jet black. This was a slightly blueish shade of black, RGB 33,32,37. However if anyone has better information I'd love to hear it.
