WW1 arena
« on: April 18, 2014, 09:03:51 AM »
Last night after the rooks reset the map quite a few people jumped into the WW1 arena, and to be completely honest it was the most fun I've had in a while. No 25k jugs, wirbs, ect ect. I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in a once a week ww1 areana furball.

    WW1 was a test bed for the new damage model. I believe that arena has been forgotten in terms of development. Maybe even some Blimps or AI bombers to attract some players so they don't get bored and log.

    Manned guns in the blimps would be awesome.  :rock

WWI arena is pure dogfighting more than any other arena including the DA. Consequently it is always empty. It is undeniable evidence that dogfighting is the last thing that AH players are seeking.

It doesn't help at all that the Dr.I so completely owns the arena.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

 What doesn't help is it's not a fully functional arena. Had it been finished with goals just as the MA.... I bet there would be a full ww2 crowd in there.

More planes, bombers, derigibles, gv,s, a few more bases and some sort of small functioning strat.

<shrug>
Okay..Add 2 Country's at once, Australia and France next plane update Add ...CAC Boomerang and the Dewoitine D.520

The f2 is faster and turns tighter, and every country has access to the plane that pwns the arena.

Yes, but the Dr I is, for some reason, the domaint plane. The D7 in particular is just not a viable choice if you want to be competitive.

The DR1 used to over modelled and then they fixed it, in WW1 transitions equate to angles, one thing the d7 does well is go nose up to nose down like pendulum very quickly, and outrolls the gyro planes, a decent stick can use this to get a DR1 to stall out and punish him on the way down. D7 is an energy fighter.
