The Jagdtiger
« on: April 20, 2014, 02:51:37 PM »
I have found that the German tank destroyer line as well as most other tanks to be a bit... Infective against the German heavy tank beast, the tiger 2. I have found the solution to this problem, the Jagdtiger.

This is one of few remaining example, this one being located at Fort Benning, Georgia. This would be one of the few GVs that would be able to kill a T2 at any range beyond 1000yds due to the Pak 44, one of the best guns of WW2( based on range, and penetration). This would be a great addition to the game even though they where produced in low numbers, between 77 and 88, which if I remember correctly, was more than the numbers of Brewster B-239s. I believe it should be perked around the same as the T2, based on it being based on the same chassis. Although, I think it should be slightly cheaper due to the lack of a turret, and the extremely long reload time due to the round having a separate propellant charge.

So your "solution" to the (non-existent) problem of the hard-to-kill Tiger II is to add the even harder to kill Jagdtiger  :lol?
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

The T2 is hard to kill without bombing it. The Jagdtiger would be easier to kill(lack of turret and by extent turret armor) and if it is tracked, is dead in the water where the T2 can somewhat fend for itself when tracked.

I rather think the SU-85 and SU-100 would be more appropriate additions at this time.  Tiger II's ought to be hard to kill.  They are the premium perk vehicle.

I think there should be a king of the tanks and a king of the tank destroyers, which is currently the underwhelming Jagdpanther, which would be like having only the tiger 1. The Jagdtiger would be the premium tank destroyer, as the T2 is the premium tank.  :D

Jagdpanther is fine for now.  Eventually, sure, but currently the German vehicle list dwarfs all others and those others need some fleshing out.

Yes, because the are the best. I would like to see the Jagdtiger added as well as the IS-1/2. I agree, with the statement that German tanks have the most representation in game, but most of the latter Russian tank destroyers where copies of German ones.

Tank destroyers based on the T-34 chassis using domestic Russian guns and Russian gunsights are copies?  If you say so....

And I've seen pictures of the Germans using captured T-34s and captured Shermans.

It is a fairly obvious thing which shape a TD is going to be when based on a tank chassis, particularly when that tank already had very sloped armor.

I've seen this as well, and a panzer with a KV-2 turret, and a captured Sherman with German markings...

(Image removed from quote.)
:rofl On a serious note, there where enough Jagdtigers made, as a posed to 2 Mauses, 1 with a turret. If it saw action,I would say yes :D

But one of the reasons I posted this because we have all sorts of Uber AC but only a few uber GVs, the Jagdpanther, tigers, and the wirble.
