How about moving them to the rear.

Well, the strats system had just been changed to end exactly that...

I know. I'm not original. Still had to throw it out there.

Making HT revert the changes he just made may require some more subtle ingenuity, I'm afraid  :noid

Compromise?

Make bases next to strats uncapturable.

On small maps, there would not be many bases left for capture...

I took it to mean have the strats next to the uncapturables bases but maybe not in one spot. That is no new uncapturable bases.

So, if there are fewer bases to capture, doesn't that still mean that folks are no more limited in their freedom to fly than before?

Lusche has the upper hand on me here, because I do not have the familiarity of most MA maps that he has, due to his habit of studying them for data.

To what extent 3 or 4 bases per side would interfere with "win the war" outcomes or how game play would suffer, is anyone's guess though.

I would go a bit further and say that constant effortless bombing on any one country's strat, does have a negative impact that could suffer an entire group of players for (what is it?) 7 days before map is reset.

I would much rather have a 1 - 2 knock out punch, next map please, than to wander around in the dark for a week.  Been there and done that ..... for 2 consecutive runs of the same map.

Have a vehicle spawn from an uncaptureable base instead.  The enemy can still have air superiority but will have to deal with M3s and Flaks.

:aok I like that also.  Any idea that simulates the will of a country to maintain their vital resources.  Especially when outmanned, the trenches would be well dug.

From a conversation with a squadee today:  He suggested more powerful ack.  I agreed, a visit over strats should potentially take out one drone if not two.
