DCS Flaming Cliffs 3
« on: May 04, 2014, 03:43:55 PM »
Just bought this today and I am amazed at the graphics and game play, quite stunning details. I've been having fun flying the Su-27 Flanker and Su-25 Frogfoot.

I have the game as well. Just got it a few weeks ago. I love flying the Su27 and the F15. I have yet to play in multi-player though. Still trying to learn all of the electronics systems and symbology.

THere is some great videos on youtube for multiplayer FC3 fights.  I bought it about a week after it came out based on watching some of the F15 multiplayer videos, with trackIR a 4 ship of F15's taking on flights of Mig29s at BVR, followed by a fight with guns through a twisting valley - amazing.

The A10C sim from DCS is much, MUCH more complex than FC3, and if you put the time into learning the avionics, that game is even more rewarding than FC3.

Also, the F15 dedicated beta, like the A10C sim sort of, a bit more of a realistic/complex F15 model over the one in FC3, just became available as well.

Flaming Cliffs started as an add-on to Lock-On. Now it is all integrated into DCS.

Excellent example of multiplayer F15 DC3, at least in my opinion.  There are tons of videos available to watch, check out some of the A10C dedicated DCS videos, fantastic avionics realism.

DCS World is free along with the SU-25.The new version is out and includes a free TF-51D modified for a passenger seat where the radio was and no weapons.

Kazaa there is a Steam version but I haven't looked into it. You don't need Steam for the regular version.

If you want to fly some multiplayer Kazaa, Wolfala (spelling?) on this BBS is an excellent DCS pilot, and has offered to let me fly with his group before.

For jet sims, these can't be beat IMO, even the BRS Falcon 4, as amazing at that project is, falls a bit short in some ways - not all mind you, and that sim is truly an incredible work by people who volunteered to do so.  Having played Falcon since the very first version, to see where it ended up makes me smile, considering it was a work of passion, not profit.  Check it out as well on youtube, some fantastic videos.

I got mine on Steam, I am flying with a group of friends right now just to screw around, I actually pulled out my Falcon 4.0 Manual just to catch up on the Systems first (been a while I used to fly on 110% realism).
