Kindergarten Lessons
« on: May 05, 2014, 04:08:51 PM »
The bulletin board is a wonderful tool, when used correctly, but when it is not used as it is intended, it is just a waste of effort.

We derive no pleasure from having to enforce the rules, yet there are those who continue to push limits without any regard for the consequences.

We want people to enjoy themselves, but when people start playing or making a game of what they can get away with on the bulletin board, we are forced to act.

We really do not wish to have to tell people to clean up signatures, or avatars.  Quite frankly, we feel like the teacher on the kindergarten school play ground when we have to.

Please use the bulletin board as it was intended to be used and respect the forum rules.

Thank you.

Skuzzy

I would like to say thanks for your statement.
Our squad just lost a member a short time ago, because some people violated the rules and started "preaching" their "views" on "the world".

My parents met in 1943, at Lockheed, Burbank, They got married after the war in 1946, and I came along in 1947.
I always wanted to be a P38 pilot; but was told that they didn't make them anymore.

Now, thanks to everyone at HTC, that 67 year old gets to live his dream.
Thanks to you, all of you.

I come here to escape reality. Here is where I come to play.
I was under the impression that is what all of us are here for.
I find it sad that some decide to bring their problems and philosopihies here.
While everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, this is not the forum to express them.

Its a game, everybody, its supposed to be where we have fun.

Not put out petty BS

Don't lose sight of that.

just my 0.02 worth

one last time; Thank you everyone at HTC for fulfilling a 67 year olds childhoods dream

I am in a fine mood. It is frustrating dealing with a group of people who came to a place of business and think they can do anything they want.

We give them warnings, we moderate the posts, we give them strong hints such as this thread, and it still does no good.  They continue to act like a modicum of respect is not required.

So we are left with the task of weeding them out and cleaning up the mess afterward. This is not the way I would prefer to spend my day.

Well Skuzzy, those same people were asking one question since 2010 or '11: "why?" They got no answer so far, except a short post from Hitech yesterday.
They did not like the changes in the game because it did negatively affect their playing experiance.
Guessing it was next to riskless to remove them and their complaints because they would have got bored soon and cancelled their sub anyways.

Now half of my friends are PNGed, those were the ones i liked to play this game with because they gave me the finest fun by the way they played. Guessing, i am/was in a low company.

AND while they are fun people and great fighters, they tend to be one dimensional in-game. They want fights. That is PART of the game, but only PART. If things ever calm down, and people stop trying to "occupy" AH forums, they might find there are other ways to get what they want. R E S P E C T..... learn it, live it.

Screw the respect, they wanted FUN and by their dictionary, the fight against a live opponent is much more fun than the fight against an auto ack or ords bunker.

Even those get respect who vulch in the koth toc, if they do it with a smile on their face.  <bitter sigh>  "kneel down"   lol

Debrody, there is a right way and a wrong way to go about anything.

Once it becomes clear no matter how much you try to steer things in the right direction, those who are not wanting to go there become a problem.  We did not make that choice.

The last thing we want to do is ban or suspend anyone.  If the disruptions cannot be calmed with communications, we are left with little choice.  There is no rationalizing disruptive behavior.  Disruptive behavior is disruptive behavior.
