Mosquito Squadron Blogs
« on: January 09, 2014, 04:00:13 PM »
There's a couple of blogs I follow which are related to the Mossie in WWII.

This one is basically "real-time" posts from the logbook of a 488 (nightfighter) Squadron radar operator:

http://broodyswar.wordpress.com/

Fairly straightforward, but still interesting enough to be worth a look.

This one's far more wide-ranging, all about 23 (intruder) Squadron. Tends to wander about and repeat things, and English is not the blogster's native language, however there's photos, stories and other artefacts on here you won't see anywhere else.

... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

Thanks!
The No. 23 squadron black is one of my two favorite skins for the VI (The other is the No. 143 coastal command skin). Did not know much about their exploits after they were in Malta. Good reading till my new books arrive in the mail.
Mosquito VI - twice the spitfire, four times the ENY.

Pierre Lagace, the fellow who does the 23 Squadron blog, has set up another blog for one of his subscribers, whose father was on 21 Squadron, also Mosquitos:
