F4u-4 Crash
« on: May 19, 2014, 07:14:21 AM »
At least Jim is ok.  So sad to see it happen, it breaks my heart in a way after I spent so much time with that bird.

It's all about Jim, in the grand scheme of things, the plane is inconsequential.

Good to see he is Ok, the damage will give the builder/rebuilders something to do, sure it will fly again.

Plane looks fixable... but not cheap. Glad the pilot is OK... Hope someone kicks him in the nut sack for fudging it up though (if he hasn't done it himself already).

Let's not go beating the pilot up before we know the cause of the accident.  Sometimes things happen that leaves even Chuck Yeager with few options.

Luckily I got to see her fly twice this year. This is from the first time:

If I recall right this plane has been crashed before, I believe Jim's father was one piloting it then and he perished in the crash. Jim then rebuilt the corsair and has been flying it ever since.

That sucks.

Glad the pilot is ok.  Nice that the plane is, relatively, ok.
