Ok, I'll bite...

Personally, and technically, no.  The technical part would this:  energy can't be created or destroyed, only transferred or something to that effect.  The human brain (I.E. Your conscious mind) is electrical signals.  When you die, who knows where that energy goes, or what it does.  It is unlikely that it simply ceases to exist... 

That being said.  I don't believe in spirits, persay..  However, who knows what happens when energy interacts with other energy, etc.  Just because someone does not believe in a deity, does not mean they don't believe in some sort of existence in an afterlife.

Logically the circle of people believing in ghosts and the circle of people who are atheists would have some overlap.  If you are looking for a connection you have too much faith in rationality.

As an atheist, I do not believe in ghosts in the traditional fashion. However, the energy aspect is interesting, though I know I could never know the truth beyond a doubt. However, I'm always up for being proven wrong!

Atheism is a religion so they might as well believe in ghosts. Agnostics then again prefer logical reasoning so they'll believe in Gods or ghosts when they get solid proof, but untill that they doubt their existence.

Strong atheism you could make that argument for.  Not so much weak atheism.  Strong atheism is the declarative "There is no god" whereas weak atheism is the "I don't believe in gods because no evidence of any gods has been produced.  If such evidence is produced I will evaluate it again."

Agnostics are of the "I don't know because I don't think about that kind of stuff, dude." variety.  Also a way for weak atheists to avoid getting pilloried by friends/family/coworkers by claiming to be agnostic when they are actually a weak atheist.

Before I became aware of those terms, which I dislike, I call the strong atheist position "irrational atheism" and the weak atheist position "rational atheism".  I think you can guess which I am.

Not saying I'm an atheist per se, but I chalk ghosts up to things like aliens, yeti, and other things X-Files which were made up by man.  By now, if such things existed, someone's cell phone camera would have the proof.  The only way to still believe in them is to reconstruct them with special powers they didn't have in any of their initial descriptions, to make them invisible to cameras but visible to our eyes.  Which is impossible, in reality.
