Yeah, the Beau is one of those machines that just makes me scratch my head over why it hasn't been added yet.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

I have consulted the spirits and they told me for sure that the Beau will follow immediately after the terrain update.
Though the vision was kind of blurry with purple smoke and unicorns and all.

Forgotten warhorse? pfft. No one has forgotten the Beau.

The Whirlwind? Now THAT was a warhorse that served a tremendous role, did tons of damage and serious fighting over the Channel and into France, and has been all but forgotten, except by a very few and of course by those who flew it and loved it.

But I digress....

It actually didnt have much of a role at all. Only two squadrons were equipped with it and only a little over 100 were built. Definitely one of those "what if" birds.

New mate of mine (kid's high school) is son of a Beau pilot on 31 Sqn RAAF, have even managed to find a pic of his old man and a couple of his combat reports on the Australian War Memorial website - hope to pass them across to him tomorrow at a school event.
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

Thanks for this.  Nice films, excellent music, just wish the narrator was speaking a language I could understand.

3 squadrons were, 167, 263 and 25

122 were built which admittedly is low, but we do have the ar234 (200 odd) and the Ta152 (less than 50) and the Me163 (400)
