Torpedo Run Time Clock
« on: June 01, 2014, 12:15:50 AM »
Give me a small run time clock when I launch torpedoes from an aircraft or PT boat.  Yes...I could use my phone or other means to do this, but I want something to use in the game.

+1. Aiming a torpedo is hard. No reason not to give the convenience of a timer.

I prefer to go on a head on pass for torps and drop at the last possible second, leading to about a 30 sec or less run for the torps. This is also more survivable that most other runs, expo seeing you to less ack, +1 to the wish though, will help when I can't make my preferred pass.

I'd love to see the adjustable torpedo sights (someone posted scans of the manual a while back).

Didn't know there was such a thing as a torpedo sight. I give a +1 to it though.

A system text message, like the re arm pad gives would be enough..... "Torpedoes have detonated (or been disarmed)"

Maybe even put it on the E6B display for aircraft.  For the PT boat the E6B is deactivated so maybe HTC can put it on the instrument panel.

E6b also nice but more important as text message, as the bombers/pt boats on torpedo runs MANY times don't survive and need to know when the torps have run their course.  I had to ask this question, and the answer on country channel was 2 minutes.  This is important as you may know to up another vehicle before the torps have run their course automatically disarms those previously released.

ack-ack

That's it. Someone had posted a series of scans from an operating manual on how to use it (depicted as an aerial drop from a B-25) a while back.

and 2 minutes is wrong anyway.

its 4 minutes for American torps and 1:40 for axis.

Thank you Kvuo75 and Rolex, this link is awesome.  It includes the answers to all of the torpedo runner's questions, ie. speed, altitude, type, and how to videos...

Even with this expertly written training page, a system message would allow me to eat my popsicle in the tower at peace.  So it is not needed, but would be "grapely" appreciated. (my favorite flavor  ;) )
