With only 1GB of video RAM, even Aces High will be starved for resources with everything set to max. Most "Source engine" based games would be hard pressed to run at max settings as well.
Having every box checked doesn't mean everything would be at max settings. There's a few sliders and drop down menus. The resolution of your monitor will also have a significant affect: The less pixels your video card has to draw, the faster it works. A 19" screen running 1440x900 is much easier for a video card than a 27" at 2560x1600. And don't let the inches fool you, a HD-ready 32" television with its 1280x720 pixels would be the lightest of these three. Size doesn't matter in this case.
I guess I should have said 10x what I had before. You are right I am probably not at max. I still have a lot to learn and thanks for the info guys. I didn't feel up to the task of building my own so what I have is adequate and I can upgrade parts in the future.
If you push anti-aliasing in conjunction with a large shadow texture setting and environmental mapping, you can easily flood 1GB of video RAM.
