Going into tonight and into the future - Friendly Fire
« on: June 20, 2014, 07:47:19 PM »
Being a one life event, FSO can become very frustrating on the count of a friendly cutting that life short. Friendly fire happens probably once a frame and no one wants to be that one person.

Identify the target and identify any close friends, Check your fire and if you're in a furball, be aware of your surroundings. Not all friendly fire incidents are entirely one sided, It's just as easy to fly through a hail of bullets on a deflection as it is to pull the trigger on someone. And it seems to be really easy to have blue on blue in tight bomber formations. It's also important to check your bombs on takeoff, If you are ordered to drop, either drop them before you roll or be very clear of friendlies and the runway.

These are the most common accidental reasons behind friendly fire and they happen fairly often. There are other accidents that happen as well, such as mis-identification but those are very rare and in those cases people apologize and they move on. Of course we have had very intentional shoot downs in the past but thankfully they are few and far between. As a reminder to all squads, Intentional shooting of friendlies will not be tolerated and if possible will result in immediate removal from FSO.

Just a friendly reminder to pass amongst your squaddies tonight.

Good luck and enjoy Frame 3.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Nef, your post here jinxed me!  In this last frame I nailed my squaddie Zambelli twice, for a kill and an assist.  *sigh*

I saw that this afternoon compiling scores.

As I said, it typically happens every frame. It happened on both sides in Frame 3.
