Nice find, those planes are very scarce as-is.

Inventory is impressive. A fully serviced Hunter with spares and a brand new engine for £275'000. Surely that's a typo :old:

if I ever win the lottery (a big one) I swear I'm going to buy a 109, get her restored, and beyond that I simply don't know.

Apparently this is in Big Spring Texas.  The owner is the same guy who choreographed the flight scenes in the BOB film.  He took the 109's as payment.  He also owns a Spit IX and a P-51.  There is video of his story and aircraft on Vimeo.  I tried to post the link but it's not working.  :bhead

These are Connie Edwards planes.  He had a Spitfire and a Mustang for sale several years back as well.

The Mustang and the Spitfire are there too.  Seriously overpriced.  The Spit is a full restoration and the 51 was loaded with corrosion.

I wonder what it would take to get them to fly? Replace some seals, dust off and put back together?

Same here, but i know exactly what id do with them......stand on the tarmac and stare at them because I dislike flying (but my passion is WWII aircraft...go figure)    :rofl

You might be better off not flying a 109 or variants. They were very squirrely on the ground with that narrow raked forward landing gear.  :joystick:

Quite honestly I would go for the Tucano.

Had a flight in one as a Cadet Instructor for 45 mins.

What a machine

They are all complete rebuilds.  They have been sitting in a sweltering hangar in Texas for many decades.  They were all loaded with corrosion when I surveyed them.  We never made an offer, but that was mostly due to the seller.
