player recruitment in exchange of perks
« on: July 13, 2014, 03:47:06 PM »
As noted, we need our players. Perhaps a system can be utilized in which a player can be awarded in perks for recruiting a new player. For example
Player A recruited player B. Player A is awarded x amount of perks. Once player B pays his first subscription fee after 2 free weeks is up both players are given a perk bonus. Thoughts?  :headscratch:

Isn't the affiliation program enough? Wouldn't you rather have actual money in your pocket or towards your account over stuff you can spend a few hours farming?

I don't think the program is still in going.

I could be very wrong, but I have not yet experienced any noticeable influx of "new" players.  I have seen new names, but from their actions and abilities, either they are returning players with new IDs or  (hopefully the case) players from other sims that are seeing advantages in the online play of Aces High.

The 2 weeks FREE promotion, presently happens to be the best marketing tool for this particular market.  If Aces High were somehow packaged with certain gaming equipment purchases, extending coupons worth full month's subscription, even for existing players who have found the need to replace or upgrade equipment, I believe they will have hit the bullseye for their premium target.

There will be those few xbox controller users, and extreme mouse users that would enjoy the game also, but those that have $$ invested in the equipment are more likely to put the effort in learning the essentials to become more than cannon fodder to the many veteran players.

I wonder if AH2 should look into special bonuses or event bonuses. I know, for me anyways, whenever one the games I play has a special bonus or an event bonus going on I tend to play that game a lot more. Experience bonuses, game cash bonuses... events like these usually get tons of players back online and it's a lot of fun to be making XP or game cash at a 50% or 100% rate.

Maybe a new player should automatically get a personal perk bonus boost the very second they log into the game giving them a 100% perk bonus boost for a set amount of time. This would help brand new players start piling up some perk points to use. Time limit boosts like these are lot of fun and I for one spend far more time in games that I get these boosts than other games.

Just my thoughts on this anyways.

That seems like it could create a perk farming nightmare type scenario :old:

Where players recruit "new" ghost accounts to score perkies to auger more 262s. :noid

Maybe. However, if I were clever, not only would I offer perks for recruiting new players, I'd also up th eperk cost for everything as I did it.

This would be quite easy to prevent for the most part.
