Mobile Front
« on: July 21, 2014, 12:13:25 AM »
I wish for a more fluid front for GVs, and not the rigid spawn points. The map would show what land your side controls, and what land the enemy controls. A person can spawn anywhere your side controls. As a GV advances towards a base the map creates a bulge that you can now spawn into and the farther you advance the closer to the enemy base you can spawn. This will eliminate the spawn deadlocks that occur on maps with multiple spawn points (i.e. the valley maps with spawns facing each other). It would also make it difficult to get shot in the rear and to camp spawns. The GVers also get the GV dar they have been asking about....

I do see that the resupply system would need to be changed, as well as some other fixes....

It would definitely make the ground war much more fluid. Instead of bases being the only schwerpunkt, any areas on the map could end up being as such. Suddenly hills, river banks, forests and draws could become strategic and tactical objectives for re-stabilizing the front. Ground forces could push onto areas dangerously close to the strats causing opposition air and ground assets to be diverted into an area to defend and push back. Whole regions of the map that go completely unseen and unused could potentially become lively battlegrounds.

This is nothing but a good idea that will enhance the realism of this simulated combined arms combat.  ... I dig it!

Each capturable object is it's own mini battle of capture the flag. Limited to the scope defined by spawns and the willingness of players to fly aircraft. If you can organize the team, you can NOE sneak an airfield next to an enemy HQ and play Ft. Apache for the night. Key concept is "If You Can Organize A Team".

Win the war is just there to give people something larger to accomplish if they want to capture a certain number of flags in a night. The MA in general is 3 countries with about 20-80 capturable flags. Each promoting the possibility of 3x 20-80 ongoing mini battles for 7 days or, until a group can flip the map. Other wise there is no war and no front. Because each base is a mini battle, it gives the localized players the chance to defeat the attacking players ability to express force in a semi controlled manner. Or until they organize a hoard and steam roll everything.

Allowing unlimited range spawning of GV's would make defending anything in our capture the flag centric arena not worth the $14.95. You could never cut off the stream of attackers at their source. Your real wish is rather transparent. Hitech please change the MA into a WWII centric strategic force game.

The AvA is setup for this nonsense, and the CM's are always looking for 2 country centric chess piece war ideas. I doubt Hitech will reprogram the map functions just for the AvA. But, the CMs might listen to the idea of complex spider webs of GV spawn lines from every single base to every other single base. In effect that's what your wish will accomplish in the MA.

This is another issue that I didn't think about, and it would need to be addressed. ...

What happens when a tank goes on a Kelly's Heroes style joyride across enemy country? Would there be a little spawn circle around it allowing a mass GV spawning at a strat or HQ?

Wow! I didn't know you could snap your fingers and make Hitech change his game code like that. Public educations are sure different than when I was young and naïve before the intardnet and jesus invented dust. Fortunately, Econ 101 hasn't. Try out a spiderweb of GV spawns connecting every field to every other field in the AvA first.

I've always liked the idea of taking a map and making about 4 versions of it.  Meaning: rotate motate the bases just a few either side so that the starting points are different.  On the big maps, perhaps give and take a few of the mainland bases.
