Had my doubts when I first saw the previews; had never heard of Guardians and it looked pretty corny. Went and saw it last night after it received such good reviews and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

9/10 rating. Taking off 1 point because the characters routinely defied everything I thought I knew about the vacuum of space...

Never read a comic book have you. ;)
Remember they are super heroes and not human, well that and completely fiction (rules don't apply to them).

Well, if you ignore the Space Is Noisy and the moisture frosting on Quill's and Gamora's skin (surface moisture would actually boil off instantly since the boiling point of water in a vacuum is virtually nothing) it's actually a bit more accurate than most movies. Vacuum exposure =/= instant death, your blood boiling, or your body suddenly exploding due to the pressure difference. It's completely possible to "cold shirt" the way Quill was doing and survive, ESPECIALLY given the medical technology available (just remember to EXHALE first. Holding your breath would be very bad).

If you watch closely you can even see maneuvering thrusters firing on the various spacecraft, especially on those miners Quill and Rocket use in the middle of the film.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Yep, I know, its a comic book and half the things that happen are very convenient. I was mainly referring to the space walk scene, i thought even for a comic that was a bit of a stretch. But you're right, the only limitations are what the writers imagine.
"Lord, let us feel pity for Private Jenkins, and sorrow for ourselves, and all the angel warriors that fall. Let us fear death, but let it not live within us. Protect us, O Lord, and be merciful unto us. Amen"-from FALLEN ANGELS by Walter Dean Myers

My wife and I went tonight to see it. Knew nothing about it, went in cold. We loved it. Saw it in 3D and after a few minutes after my old orbs settled in, it was great. Every character was unique and funny. The thing I liked best was the visuals. Yes it had a touch of the "Way too much happining at once" thing like Transformers at times, but they didnt overdo it. Seeing the details of the ship in space, really gave you a sense of size to other things, just really well done.

May not be your cup of tea if your not into marvel but i Loved it  :aok. Found it even better than avengers and apparently the same directer is taking over avengers which i hope to be a great choice. a lot of marvel Easter eggs in this one  :noid so be sure to look out for if you dont know already all marvel movies hint at one another in some way as well as the comics. Be sure to stay after credits. Marvel seems to be getting there stuff together over DC considering they were about to go bankrupt and selling character rights to Sony and fox yet now breaking box office records on the regular. I hear that DC is going to try to make a come back with a justice league movie. But personally i believe the damage is done. Dark night was hated even by batman fans do to its lack of accuracy to comics. Marvel all the way.   I wanted to know what the fuss was about so i kept up with the movies and comics. The amount of sophistication, detail, and relativity in these short stories blew me away. How they study future concept technologies and include sciences of astronomy, physics, and dimensions in a feasible way. Now i understand what the fuss is about. Its actually very interesting to my surprise. I salute you nerds  :salute
