Correction: You have a strange mind if you cannot read that. 55 out of 100 is the majority.  :P

Was able to read it at normal reading speed, which surprised me.

I have heard the argument that written language is more pictographic then phonics. I tend to agree.

We have severe dyslexia in my family, while mine isnt quite so bad or I have adapted to it I have a cousin who used to write just like the letter Fuzeman posted.

In school he had to have his lessons done on a dataset, fortunately his parents had the ability to cope with it...$$$$$  and these days he's a teacher in France! As it turned out he has an exceptional IQ.  Thats not surprising though as many dyslexics score well above average.

I have my biggest problem with words like them, there, they, the,it and several others,to me they all look the same and if one of those words are in the sentance above or below the line I'm reading I throw it in for good measure, whether it belongs or not...... :O    It is all but impossible for me to read aloud.....

The amount of dyslexic people in US is so high that IMO people are using it as an excuse for simply failing to learn grammer. Just a thought  :aok

Dyslexia is not an excuse not to learn grammar. My son was just recently discovered to be dyslexic, he's only seven and it distressed him that he couldn't keep up with the other kids in terms of reading. Now we know about we can work on it. I've been working with him using a book for dyslexics and it's clear where his difficulties lie. Otherwise he's very talented intelligent, well above average.

Being dyslexic is not an excuse for anyone. It's a genuine problem. I thought we'd left that kind of attitude behind long ago.
