Suggestion for text buffer widgets
« on: September 16, 2014, 08:46:03 PM »
I am a UNIX administrator and network administrator. I think it would be fairly easy to modify the game so that you could hit "/" to type, then UP arrow to scroll back through your text history. This is done in UNIX shells often. Remember, system admins are lazy by nature, and being able to cycle through repetitive commands with one key is awesome.

Imagine using the .dt commands for ammo down-time, or some other map feature, and being able to repeat the last base check you did by scrolling the up arrow and hitting enter.

I know some would abuse this by using lame "kill macro's" and such, but I think you could limit the UP arrow action to only those commands that start with a dot. (and not .s <name>)..as people could tie up channel 200 rather quickly.

Just my 2 cents.
