In the P47 we have the 50 cals as M2, M2_2 ... M2_5. :headscratch:

M2 gun sounds are 50 cal and any other guns that are similar to that caliber ...

30 cal guns sounds are 30 caliber and any other guns that are similar to that caliber ... etc ... etc

Each aircraft, vehicle or tank model that Hitech creates has codec in place that is searching for it's particular characteristics of gun size and number of guns that were in place on each of them when manufactured during WWII ...

Hope this helps

If you scroll down to the last topic on this page you will find a thread by AKDogg that lists the sounds actually used by each aircraft in AH. Some sound packs like mine have sounds that are not actually used (like the M2_5), because as far as I know there is no comprehensive list of sounds that the game uses. So, in some cases we hunt and peck looking for sounds that might work. There are sounds listed in the sound control panel in AH that are not used. At one point Hitech had suggested that a change might be coming, so a few of use created sounds to be used just in case, also.

Your Jug, for instance, has a wide variety of gun packages and a large number of guns, but it only uses M2 (which I believe is the external gun sounds of other planes), M2_2, M2_3, and M2_4. By offsetting the attack point of the wave file you can get enough variation in the sounds from just those three sounds to add interest.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.
