The P-47. It is not the Spit or the Mustang or whatever super sexy machine one cares to name. Yet the statistics indicate that the reliable bird took its pilots into combat and BROUGHT THEM BACK HOME AGAIN. No horsecrap or insane quirks to flying it, from what I've read. That is the girl that all men who have the capacity to learn from experience eventually marry.

Very good point. I might have to marry the Mossie or maybe the TU-2. The Mossie because she is just so good looking, "and what a pair of Merlins". So its the Mossie.

Compression is probably the quirkiest thing about the P-47.

PT boat. she's not overly complicated, quick when she needs to be and ALWAYS wet :devil :bolt:
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

I would pine away
All night and all day
For the F4U .... 1A
I guess you could say
I like her sashay
Her swing and her sway
At less than one k
On a landing approach
The deck in the spray
Giving Mr. Paddles
A trip to sickbay
As he flaps them so hard
He almost flies away

Heh. Yeah, this ties in right well with what I was talking about.

In real life?  P-47.  No question about it.

In AH?  Why...the 202 of course.  The Angelina Jolie of airplanes.

TA-152, for many reasons but mainly because she loves me back.

That's... that's tough. I'm really loving the Corsair. But at the end of the day, I always find myself back in the same beloved place:

"The Bf-109 always brought to my mind the adjective 'sinister.' It has been suggested that it evinced the characteristics of the nation that conceived it, and to me it always looked lethal from any angle, on the ground or in the air; once I had climbed into its claustrophobic cockpit, it felt lethal!" -Eric Brown

"Sinister" to me is more the quality I want in a comrade to walk the dark streets at night with, not the girl I want to marry.  :D

P-40 Warhawk

Well I am kind of a one women guy. The Warhawk is not the prettiest gal in the bunch,
but she's not ugly either. Unlike some women that just want to try and over power and
confuse you with their bells and whistles. The P-40 is a gentle and good girl. She can hold
her own against the girls with the big boobs. It takes a special guy to fly her right. She is a
worker not a looker. She does every mission from dogfighting, strafing, and dive bombing
to flying long missions. She is not fast enough to run from a fight, so she will always stay
with you until the end. She is a faithful gal that I would be proud to marry and
call her my own..
