My wife was as well back when she was 6yrs old.......to this day she hates needles....to the point that she had our twins naturally to avoid getting one. Was no joke
Last month for the first 10 days I was home from ICU, I had to give myself injections of Coumadin(Rat Poison) in the stomach twice every day. I had flashbacks to my 21 shots in the stomach muscles. You just cannot recreate that intense burning sensation any other way but to jab metal into your body. I was 7 when I had to get all 21 shots with intramuscular needles. I too hate shots, doctors, and hospitals. They always say this won't hurt.......or hurt much. Fortunately the Coumadin was only into the adipose tissue using ultra fine diabetes needles. What burned, was the Coumadin going in, like pouring alcohol onto a cut. The needle was so small and sharp the weight of the syringe pushed it into you before you knew it. One real creepy sensation.
