I know they indicate closure rates, but is there a specific value they represent?

It only shows if the player is moving closer to you (-) or away from you (+).

But you can close on a player without the minus symbol, and a player without the plus symbol can pull away from you. There appears to be a specific closure rate that must be hit before these appear, does anyone know what that is?

I believe closure rates have nothing to do with it.  It represents greater than or less than the displayed distance for contacts greater than I think 3 or 400 ish.  ie: 800+ is closer to 900.  400- is closer to 300.

Nope.  If that was the case you'd see the signs constantly changing from - to + to - to + even as someone flies consistently away from you.  That simply doesn't happen.

The icon range is an approximation, when it says D800 they are in a range between 900yds and 700 yds, aprox! the plus or minus is just and indicator to tell you if you are closing on the bandit or he is moving away from you.

Minus means you are closing, plus means you are gaining.

Now that I've said this I expect Lusche to come in and give the correct and exact measurements! :devil

Did you read the replies? + means the distance increasing,  - means the distance is decreasing.

Yes, but I knew that already. I'd like to find out what the exact values are.
