Been using the TRK IR last couple weeks and I am getting use to it, I do have the Roll, X, Y and Z off at this time, only problem I have noticed is the " center " seems to drift after using it for a bit, like FLS suggested I programmed a button for center, one question is this drift typical with the unit, kind of annoying.

Otherwise liking it adds some realism to the game.

Increase the deadband in the center.  A little bit of playing with the profile and you'll start moving in the right direction.  I'd shoot you my profile but I'm at work atm.

I had the same issue though... always felt like my head was floating.  Once that was fixed though I was all like  :joystick: :airplane:

If you where you lose center then yes but give it time and you will auto reset the center without thought.  The a little longer and it want float as much.  Turn the X back on flatten out the center so you can move around the gunsight and still have the gunsight on the reflection.

The center shouldn't change unless you change it or something moved.  Make sure the cable isn't pulling the camera. I set enough deadband that normal small head movements don't move the TIR.  I only turn roll off.

I have been using a big screen TV to play AH lately and was wondering if the track IR would work on such a set up, I have a low level chair and usually sit about 4 feet from the screen, not sure how far the system will track correctly.

Any comments would be helpful

HL

I use TrackIr with a 47" screen. Works perfect. Yet, watch for blind spots when in TrackIR software.

I tend to sit a bit lower than center of screen / eyesight line. This way when looking up I dont loose the TrackIr signal. Worst thing to happen is tracking a target through your views and then screen freezes.

In TrackIr software use camera mode to setup your center and check if you have can track all signals through your range of motion.

Big screen really makes things better to me.

Hope this helps <S>

In my experience the screen freezes are usually due to an IR source behind you.  For me it is the sun shining off the roof of a shed outside.  Not enough to even notice but enough to upset TrackIr.  You can play with the sensitivity or do what I do, close the blinds  :)

I have trackir and have had it for some years now, but i notice that my gunnery in AH goes to rubbish when using it and have spoken with a few others who experience the same issue with trackir in my squad.

I don't have this issue with other titles like CLOD, il2 bos, dcs, it only happens with AH. Does anyone know what is different with AH?

Shoot! I smell Zack! Doom's a Fairy, Jimmy's a drunk, RT is very suspicious!
how do I start my engine...no seriously, How?

Try turning off the "Roll", the "Y" and "Z".  Work on your "X" and "Speed" curve to get near zero head movement around the gun-sight then a steep curve to get your rear view.  Once you get shooting down add back an one axis  at the time.  Leave Roll till last or leave it off altogether.

As far as using TrackIR to control your views there is nothing different with AH.
