2v2 Dueling Bracket Tournament
« on: October 26, 2014, 01:31:03 PM »
Gentlemen,
We have had a lot of 2v2s challenges/fights happening lately and I would like to see if we can get a 2v2 bracket similar to BE's 1v1 bracket going.

The rules would be as follows.

- First Round Plane- Picked at Random
- Loser of round picks next plane
- 7 Round fights, first team to 4 wins; 11 Round fights in Semis, first team to 6 wins;15 Round fights in Finals, first team to 8 wins
- Alt will be agreed upon by both teams, if they can't pick like adults, they aren't the type we want to have in a friendly competitive tournament.
- Fields will be agreed upon prior to fights and will be the fields used the entire match.
- No going above set alt prior to icon range
- Teams must remain within 3k icon range of each other prior to icon range
- Players must remain within 6K icon range of enemy during the fight
- Fuel load will be agreed upon by both teams for each fight
- Films must be provided upon request of opposing team.
- No Ammo Dumping(unless teams agree to do so, screenshot or record agreement)
- At Icon range, planes are free to maneuver
- Cold merge first pass
- Anything Goes after first pass

Summary of a fight.
Field for match already picked
Plane picked. (By loser or Randomly picked for first round)
Fuel and Alt picked mutually
Teams call "rolling" they climb to set alt for fight. The only maneuvering at this time is horizontally to create separation from you wingman(must remain within 3K prior to icon range)
At Icon range "fight is on" Planes may maneuver however they want within 6 K of enemy. Cold Merge First pass.
Anything Goes after First pass
One team wins round
Loser picks next ride
Rinse and repeat for the set number of rounds.

Any disputes will be handled after the duel by myself and 2 volunteer judges. If a round is found to be an accidental mistake which led to a round win then the round will not be counted. If the duel is a draw after that it will be based off K/D of the entire match.

Any round wins that are because of foul play, automatic match forfeit.

I don't think I've left out anything, if I have please feel free to bring it up.

If your interested comment with you and your wingman's in game name and BBS name(if someone does have one that's fine, we can work it out)

example JunkyII/JunkyII  Krupnski/Krupnski

Thanks in advance to all who will join up, this should end up being fun. Sign up will be until the 9th of November and I'll post first matchs on the 10th, you will have 1 week to complete the match unless a request for extension has been made.

I dont have a horse in this fight.....

but if you can begin to maneuver at icon range before you pass each other....

its a moot point to have a guns cold merge...

if you want a guns cold merge there should be no maneuvering untill after you pass each other at the 3-9....
but that is no way to train how to fight....which is what these dueling brackets are about right...?.

at icon range anything goes, and if one can maneuver into a position to get a shot and at the same time NOT being in his enemy's gun solution....that is how one should train....play....duel.....

the whole fly by each other guns cold is bad for learning and not in anyway representative of a real(virtual) dogfight.

just some things to think about Junky  :salute

I think your right for sure, in a 2v2 there isn't a way to avoid the HO, my thoughts were to avoid the inevitable all you did was HO drama...but in this game it's going to happen anyway.

Not sure exactly what jokes are implied there. Thanks but I prefer handsome over cute.
