Of all the stupid things I've done...
« on: October 27, 2014, 08:05:06 PM »
Writing a research paper on chemtrails has to be the worst. I'm having a hard time taking any of the sites supporting the theory seriously. It is quite amusing though to see what some people will try to pass off as definitive proof of chemtrail activity.  :lol

Anyone know of any sites that support the chemtrail hoax? Preferably ones that at least look credible.

You are on your own brother. Are you beginning to see why Skeptics giggle like hell at the idea of Chem Trails? There is nothing that even "looks" credible. Just hyperbole and super-excited personal opinion. Just get a picture of that Greek History Channel guy with the Babylon 5 hair subtitled, "It was Aliens", and hand that in. That would count as research in this particular field.

DONE!

On a serious note, a question came to mind while I was researching. I've seen photos of bombers and fighters creating contrails during WWII but their principal of operation was different to the jet engines that create them today. In WWII were the vapor trails created from the propellers or was it still a byproduct of engine combustion?

I saw a suspicious looking cloud today. The government is clearly spraying chemicals into the air.

#Illuminati!

That was also a possible topic for me to research. The list was;

2Pac lives
Living Elvis
Bigfoot
Haunted Eastern State Penitentiary
Loch Ness Monster
Subliminal Advertising (this could be real depending on your definition)
Bermuda Triangle
<Snip> (this one risks getting political)
<Snip> (same reason as above)
<Snip> (again, same reason)
<Snip> (more political BS)
Area 51/ aliens
Paul (McCartney) is dead
Illuminati

If you're really curious about the snipped one I can PM the actual list. I'm only snipping to avoid Skuzzification.

Good man re. "research".

Byproduct of engine combustion. Burn hydrocarbons and you get CO2 and water vapour. And a bunch of other toxic stuff. It has to be -40C (or colder) for them to form, so 8000m or higher. 26,000ft for those of you stuck in a more arbitrary measurement system than the just as made up but more logically structured metric system.

College papers for a long time now have been unfortunately in many cases writing for the professor and their point of view and social persuasion.

In my first go around I was a double major, one being in History. The paper I worked my hardest on, my last 400 level History class was on the War in Vietnam. I tried my darndest to justify US intervention on behalf of the sovereign S. Vietnam. I balanced the paper with US/world social tensions and the Red Scare; i.e. not that warmongering is a good thing and all of my sources cited either were ppl on the ground, government officials or professors, etc.

My professor would have none of it, he was on campus at CSU back then and watched/cheered students setting fire to the Annex; he gave me a B-.

Had I written an anti-US involvement in Vietnam paper, I'd more than likely received a much higher grade.

Think for yourself, write what your prof wants to read (if that's the kind you have; you should easily discern between the two types of profs).

If they want chemtrails exist and are a scary thing, give it to them and go on...

Yeah man so true. I had an extremely liberal history Pol Sci teacher and I got Bs on all my papers except for the last paper which was basically about shaming Bush, I got a 100 on that. Needless to say I needed it.

While I do not know any credible sites. Start with this.
  A. Go look up how weather and climate actually works, in dry and moist climates. The very last reply to the past chemtrial thread (a page or 2 back) that was just brought back. I have explained how chemtrials are unlikely to be perilous givin how our climate/weather work, also I compared them to volcanoes, which you should research about as well.

B. Volcanoes!! If one of these has a hard time  effecting climate, with the hundreds of thousands of "chemicals" it shoots in the air, do you really think a chemtrial is gonna do anything?

C. By understanding weather and climate and how it functions, you can see why chemtrails are not very useful and thus would be a huge waste of time and money to "secretly" kill off Americans, or whatever they want you to think they are doing.

Like I said. Read the last post in that thread. It may help you to get ideas for researching actual science -weather/climate functions, instead of using some anti-chemtrial site writtin by some journalist.

Luckily this class is all about our own opinions. It's a class on critical writing and analysis, so whatever I write, no matter the point of view, will be accepted as long as it's my own opinion.  :aok

I thought chem trails were just for seeding the air so moisture would be moved from one air to another, to help with droughts and such.  :headscratch:

What i find interesting about that list, is the truths behind each subject would be just as interesting as the myths.

"Area 51/aliens", i would say spy planes & nazi german immigrants.

Seeding the air in dry climates to make that large of an effect with water vapor is extremely difficult given the size of the earth.

There was a interesting documentary about UFOs floating around reddit recently. Its on YouTube.
