Need new Rudder Pedals
« on: November 05, 2014, 04:42:55 PM »
I've worn out a second pair of CH Pedals is short order, I think 2 years. It's annoying. Not sure I will get another set of ch pedals. I'm not even sure they are interested in selling anymore. I saw Madcatz and Saitek. I don't trust Saitek since I had two bad sets of joysticks with them.

Still though I will consider any recommendations.

I don't know, the usual way I guess. They spike on the right side.

Saitek Combat Pro Pedals.
Half metal, adjustable foot pedal angle, adjustable centering control, wider stance than CH pedals.
I'm 6'4" with a size 13 foot; works for me; YMMV  :old:

Spraying the pots with a cleaner can cure spiking.  Be sure not to pinch any wires when you resemble them.

CH PRO Peddles - the BEST. Do as The Fugitive says, plus ALWAYS wake up the HOTAS before USING-move ALL controls to their limits.

They do not.  Only downside but I find I don't miss the brakes that much.

They are really well made and super accurate (far more so than Saitek peds).  Only slightly more expensive to be honest.

This will give you a little better idea of how they work.

Right now, these are backordered.  Until, as it turns out, right around the time of my birthday!   ;)

How do you spray the pots and with what?

How do you spray the pots and with what?

Take the screws out of the bottom of the controller and locate the "pots". They look like this

buy a can of this.....

http://www.walmart.com/ip/CNC-QD-Electronic-Cleaner-11-oz/16817418

....and spray it under the wafer board or any opening you can see. Do this with the controller un-plugged. Don't be afraid to spray it in there, and work the controller back and forth.

Put it back together being sure you don't pinch any wires and give it a shot to see how it worked out. $16 is a small price to very possibly get it all squared away.

What Fugi said. If you can't find that particular parts cleaner just be sure that whatever you get is safe for plastic and does NOT contain lubricant. The lubricant will tend to attract more dust and quickly too so you'd be doing this a lot more often. I've used CRC Mass Airflow Sensor Cleaner. You can find that in just about any auto parts store.
