Apparently, when the show went off the air, the helicopter was eventually sold to a medical entity in Germany.  During one flight, it crashed.

Sad ending to a great little chopper that made you believe it was invincible against anything.

I wasn't allowed to watch blue thunder because during the pilot episode (I think it was pilot episode... maybe in a movie?) they look into a high-rise apartment window and watch some people having sex.  I had a hard time not seeing them as the "bad guys" after that and never really wanted to watch a show about a couple of pervs with a nice helicopter.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

It was a film with Roy Scheider and Malcolm McDowell. She wasn't having sex... She was doing yoga in her birthday suit.

It's a good flick.

Ah, yea I'd forgotten the details, mostly on purpose.  Still a couple of voyeur pervs with a helicopter.

Yeah, but it was the standard Bell Ranger police chopper, but it wasn't like she didn't know they were watching; she was clearly an exhibitionist. They did get chewed out by their boss though...

I loved all of those as a kid.  My favorite was "The Highwayman" because he had a futuristic Semi Truck that transformed into a helicopter.  An Aussie jamed Jacko was the tough guy sidekick who also had a cool tractor trailer.

If I remember right, each of these 'lawmen' also hauled an exotic Italian supercar around with them too.

I spent way too much time tracking that show down a few months ago.

They're all on youtube.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.
