yes, much like the OP who flies only the D9 these days  :devil

I'm easing my way back into ACM (which I was just starting to get decent at when I left).  While I get re-acclimated to flying I prefer a plane that allows me to dogfight like a wuss and run a lot.

I'll graduate back to the 109 before too long.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

To fully enjoy the planeset, one has to go beyond doing the same exact mission over and over.

While I agree with you Wiley,it might be nice to have a plane of the day or week and award extra perks for killing in it or kills of it!  Hey maybe select 2 planes, one for kills of and one for kills with!

We could have say 50% more perks awarded as an example.  Not sure if it would require too much work to implement or if it would even change anything but so long as it's optional I dont really see a down side.

Lets expand on this idea a bit. Give those 50% extra perks to the planes that are having their 'birthday'. The week of the date the plane entered service, or first saw combat. Add a little more history to the game.

The crap part of that idea is I would hate to be the one that would have to go back through the code and set up those dates after researching them.

Might be better to adjust perks at the end of the month for kills in that plane. Won't have to modify the game, but write an app to update the pilots database.

I was only suggesting incentive-izing planes that don't get much use.  Maybe add an extra bonus if a player can get a buddy to launch 2 planes that don't get used much at the same time.

I agree on what you are trying to do.  Nobody has come up with a good way to do that and make everybody happy.

I suspect, the avg ENY value of planes flown in AH has shown a continual decline in last couple of years.  Kind of a one ups man kind of thing.  May just seem that way.

I'm not sure how much work it would be either but my idea was to adjust the perk modifier for a certain plane, maybe once a week or a month. those are the small details, the idea is to promote the use of otherwise unused A/C.

Say as example we use the 109E,HTC could add an extra perk modifier for that plane on top of the existing formula. And they could do an inverse, select the La7 as an example and a kill of the La would give a player an extra perk modifier.

This wouldnt penalize a player for flying the La7,although it may paint a large target on him,and it would force a player to fly a certain plane either.

Other than the extra work to implement,I dont see a downside and just maybe it might encourage a player to try a plane they wouldnt normally fly because of the "extras" they might get from a kill.

  YMMV.

When you look at the choice of rides, and the player numbers in arenas. All the people are in the LWMA with all of the rides from the two other arena included. And the majority of players who are not muppets or similar minded and skilled creatures. Want speed to run away at will and firepower to leverage that speed in the hopes of killing you by a blindside and running away with that kill.

The few times the LWMA has been closed for an evening. You saw exactly this rule in place with the available rides in the next level of arena down. But, it only works once in a blue moon and at most, for 24 hours. ENY makes players log off in the LWMA when the available rides are all the dogs you gents are talking about in this post.

In the LWMA if you induced numbers of players into dog rides. Most of those players would be vets who have no emotional survival issues about the speed and fire power of rides. This is why I mentioned the ride elections were failures and that players were choosing rides for the wrong reasons. In the MA many of those elected rides don't get used much. Especially since the majority of the voters were responding to a MOTD poll to vote and never came to the forums to learn about the rides in question.

How many of those players who never come to the forums had any clue what G.55 meant or were motivated to google it? The majority recognized a small number of planes because we all watch the Discovery and History channels. They voted for what they had limited knowledge of.

Consider if the MOTD had quick info with a picture to have given the voters a more MA oriented informed choice. The G.55 would have made it in a long time ago because it would say 3-20mm cannons and speed with a cool evil picture........... :t

This is like the old joke that voters are harsher to their beer brewer if he has an outage, than their politicians after raising their taxes. Death and taxes are certain but, fun and sex is only now.

Didn't read every post here, but it would be fun to have a "Perk Bonus Ride of the Day" - one that would be chosen from planes 30 ENY and up, that would give you double perks for every kill in that plane.

Also "Target for Today" - get triple perks for killing the designated target ride, which would be chosen from the most popular planes.

Kill the "Target for Today" with the "Perk Bonus Ride of the Day" and get an achievement: "Pwnage"
