He was killed the same day I was wounded during the TET II battles of May 1968 south of Saigon at the little unheard of hamlet called Tan Than where my company of 96 men walked into a battalion size ambush of 400 NVA regulars. Note: took 3 days but we kicked their tulips killing more than 250 of them.
